What is a premium Short URL?

Short URLs are unique, globally. Like a regular domain they cannot be used for more than two destination long urls on the entire internet.

This means this:

  • If it belongs to you, if you've reserved it for your business or yourself:

THEN

  • No one else can use or reserve or own that short url, no matter what.

Why is it considered Premium?

Premium Domains are those in the highest demand.  In the world of our short URLs (such as url.bike and url.camp) that might be specific extensions like well known brands, industry specific phrases, etc.  Some examples might be:

url.bike/harley | url.bike/bmw | url.camp/jayco | url.camp/airstream | url.boats/axis | url.boats/malibu

Do we retain every good idea out there? Absolutley not.  We have tried really hard to leave the field as open as possible, while still protecting some of the more valuable short urls for those who are most serious about using them.  It would be a real disservice if a dealer grabbed a premium domain that was unprotected and then used it poorly, or not at all.  This is how we classify a domain as "Premium."

How to Reserve a Premium Short URL.

Use the general support form on this page, or send an email to support@digitalpower.solutions, and in the summary, simply write, I'd like a Premium Short URL.  In the Details section, list all the short URLs you believe to already be considered "Premium" that you have interest in reserving.  We'll have someone look into any other requests for this short url and respond with whether or not it remains available for reserving and what is needed in order to secure it.

Will it cost anything?

It might. We'll run different types of promotions from time to time. We may ask for a payment, we may ask for a video testimonial, we may ask for a donation to a charity on our behalf, etc. We'll try different things over time in order to try and maintain the value of these 'Premium' web properties.  It also might just be free when you ask.
