Getting Trade Cycle Installed

Problem

Getting the right person on the job.

You may forward these instructions directly to your website solutions provider.  They are very familiar with this process.  They will confirm that it only requires about 10-30 minutes of their time to completely install Digital PowerSports TRADE CYCLE™ tools.

Embedding the Tool

Please choose or create a page on your website, which is included in your navigation menus, etc.  (see example image) If you have a current Trade-In page with a form that sends an email to your staff, please replace the contents of THAT page, rather than creating a new, redundant page.  We recommend “Value Your Trade” as the title for this page. Along with these instructions, you will have received a zipped folder containing several items, one of them with the filename ending in:

 “...EMBED_CODE”

Please copy the lines of code (all 3 lines of text from within the file) and paste them in their entirety into the section of the page where you wish the TRADE CYCLE tool to live.  You may need to adjust the “width” and “height” attributes to suit your design but do not modify the width to be below 660px without consulting tech support.

Some things to consider

  • If you do not have a “responsive” website that’s ok, you can use the same embed code given.  It will dynamically alter campaigns based on device.

  • This embed code can also be installed as part of social media strategy within Facebook Applications or other third party applications.

  • We may have provided slider, banner or button graphics as well. You may find those in your file.  If so, simply install and link those to the page in which you added the embed code above.

“Peppering” your Website with Opportunities!

Next we’d like you to follow the instructions included in any example photos in your folder. Our team takes special care to consider and recommend placement options that will insure the highest success for your service.  These recommendations are backed by the experience of many hundreds of similar installations of trade in tools in other industries.  

Of these examples, you’ll likely find references to most or all of the following:

  • Navigation menu item placement

  • Home page placement, above and below the ‘fold’

  • Inclusion in a slider

  • Inclusion in your inventory pages

  • Inclusion in your VDP templates

  • Possibly others:

    • 3rd party site advertising banners / images

    • additional “all-pages” code (coming soon)


Some planning

*If there are button images you already have on your website, that have custom backgrounds with text over them and you’d like us to create a Value Your Trade button using that background, please send the clean background image in it’s highest available resolution to support@digitalpowersports.com and make sure to include the name of your dealership in the email subject.  You will receive this additional button/graphic separately, often the same day.

Link it!

Simply link, all installed graphics, sliders, banners, text links, etc. to the ‘Value Your Trade’ page created in step 1.

All done!

That’s it!  You’re done!

If you have any trouble at all, you may need to involve your representative at your website solutions provider, as your Digital PowerSports rep does not have login authorization to do the installations for you.  However, in any instances of trouble, you may put your Website Solutions Provider directly in touch with our technical support team by completing the request form on this page, or sending an email to support@digitalpowersports.com.  This is the best way to get support throughout, although your rep will always take good care of you and your business.
